A vision to strengthen healthcare in the communities we serve and empower patients to make informed choices was the genesis of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute. Following in the footsteps of my father-in-law Dhirubhai Ambani, who believed that good health is essential for a person's happiness, success and well-being, our aim was to create a global healthcare institution that combines the best in medical treatment with strong ethical principles and a culture of care and compassion.

History

The hospital project was initiated in 1999 by Dr. Nitu Mandke as a large scale heart hospital. Dr. Nitu Mandke was born in 1948 in a middle class family. He was the first in the family to choose medicine as a profession with a determination to become a heart surgeon.
